Resident Arrested For Hiding Wanted Person

A Lawrenceburg resident has been arrested for allegedly obstructing the service of a warrant, by denying that a wanted person was hiding inside her home.

Akelia Marie Luffman, age 24, was arrested at her 306 Torges Street home when officers made their way there recently to serve an active warrant on Colt Chambers.

The Lawrenceburg Police Department had received information indicating that Chambers was hiding out at the home. When they questioned Luffman about Chambers’ presence, officers report that she denied he was there. Officers informed Luffman more than once that it is a crime to obstruct the service of a warrant, warning her that should Chambers be found inside the home, she would be arrested. They indicate that she continued to deny Chambers was present.

During a search of the premises, officers report finding Chambers hiding in the attic of the home. Chambers was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail, as was Luffman.
